The white Laifen Wave Pro is the same brush as the aluminium alloy version, and for the money we recorded it is the better buy. You give up the metal handle and about sixteen grams, and you keep the pressure sensor, the app and the 70-day battery.

What you get
Laifen's UK listing describes the same 60-degree WaveMotion at up to 66,000 vibrations per minute, the same pressure sensor that eases the motor off when you press hard, and the same 70-day battery and IPX8 rating. Two Pro brush heads come in the box.

The app is the same too: two cleaning modes, Daily Clean and Deep Clean, each adjustable, plus a personalised brushing report after each session.

Pros and cons
Short version, based on verified specifications and independent testing.
What works
- The same pressure sensor and 70-day quoted battery as the aluminium alloy version
- Around twenty pounds cheaper than the alloy handle at the prices we recorded
- Lighter than the alloy model, at 135.3 g against 151.4 g for the aluminium handle
- Comes with two Pro brush heads and a wireless charging dock
What doesn’t
- The ABS handle is less rigid than the aluminium alloy version and scuffs more readily
- Only two cleaning modes, Daily Clean and Deep Clean
- Laifen's listing artwork uses comparative plaque-removal claims that we have not repeated here
What the white handle costs you
T3's reviewer of the original Laifen range measured the ABS handle at 135.3 g and the aluminium alloy at 151.4 g, so the white brush is the lighter one in the hand. The trade-off is rigidity: ABS is a cheaper, more flexible material, and it scuffs and marks more readily than alloy.
Our verdict
Unless you specifically want the metal handle, this is the Wave Pro to buy. The brushing performance, the pressure sensor, the battery and the app are identical to the alloy model, and it costs around twenty pounds less at the prices we recorded.
If you want the more rigid handle and are happy to pay for it, see the aluminium alloy Wave Pro. If you would rather set the power yourself than have the brush adjust it, the original Laifen Wave gives you three modes and up to twenty intensity levels for less again.
The Laifen brand guide covers the whole range.
